The Story
Orchestral Overture was written with the purpose of creating an introduction to a movie: a five-minute symphonic opening that slowly reveals its world.
The piece begins with a first French horn solo, setting a mysterious but awakening tone before being supported by a broad string section. Later, trumpet, flute, bassoon and oboe solos add extra layers while interpreting the main theme. The track closes with a reinterpretation of the solo from the beginning.
It also reflects a long-standing wish to write symphonic film music, an intuitive feeling possibly fueled by 15 years of playing French horn in a local band.
